Hope for Displaced Yezidi Families in Syria

Displaced Syrian Yezidis receive aid

As the crisis in Syria continues to escalate, we’ve had the privilege of stepping into the gap for vulnerable communities, providing critical relief to displaced Yezidi families. These families, forced from their homes by violence from Islamist Turkish-backed militias, are fighting to survive in dire winter conditions.

Thanks the support of our generous donors, 41 families—208 individuals—received essential aid to help them endure these challenging times.

Here’s how that generosity made a difference:

🏠 Shelter & Warmth:

17 families received diesel-powered heaters to protect against freezing temperatures.

Smart budgeting allowed us to deliver 2 more heaters than originally planned, extending our reach.

🧼 Hygiene & Sanitation:

41 hygiene kits were distributed to ensure basic sanitation for displaced families

The Yezidi community has faced unimaginable persecution—first at the hands of ISIS, and now from Turkish-backed militias seeking to control formerly Assad-held territories. These militias have targeted religious minorities, including Yezidis, Christians, and others, forcing families to flee into displacement camps and unfinished homes.

Here’s the demographic breakdown of support given:

  • Direct Beneficiaries: 41 families, representing 208 individuals.
  • Children (0-17 years): 87
  • Adults (18-59 years): 79
  • Elderly (60+ years): 42

This support is not just meeting their physical needs; it’s sending a powerful message that these communities are not forgotten.

This is just the beginning. There is still so much more to be done:

  • Deliver food parcels and winter essentials to more families in need.
  • Provide formula and diapers for young children.
  • Advocate for the protection of vulnerable religious minorities in Syria.

The aid being provided is saving lives and restoring hope. Together, we can ensure that Yezidi families, and others like them, have the resources they need to survive this winter and rebuild their future.

Thousand of Minorities are at Risk

Help Displaced Syrian Communities Survive and Prosper
