In 2024, Shai Fund served over 66,400 children, women, and men in high-risk situations across 11 countries.
Families in these areas received food, medical assistance and/or hygiene kits. Persecuted cultural and religious minorities were given economic opportunities and children and adults received educational supplies or support.
Beginning in 2019, Turkey limited the amount of water flowing to communities in northeast Syria. This disruption has left over 1.2 million people without access to clean water. Weakened by war and persecution, many families now face the heartbreaking choice to leave their homes to survive.
In response to the devastation caused by the water crisis, Shai Fund partnered with local groups to provide 1,120 households with clean drinking water. Safe drinking water also protects these families from the risks of waterborne diseases.
This effort not only addresses the immediate need for water but empowers communities with the resources they need to stay in the home land.
Internal conflict in Sudan has caused death, destruction, and the displacement of 10 million people internally and another 2.1 million outside the country. The ongoing turmoil has crippled the health system with massive destruction of infrastructure and increase of disease. This is causing outbreaks in several states of cholera, measles, malaria, and dengue fever.
In 2024, Shai Fund partnered with church communities and local medical facilities to deliver lifesaving medicines to the Sudanese. Six hundred families, and 10,294 individuals also benefited from the food aid we provided.
After Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, Shai Fund swiftly took action. We delivered vital aid and launched an essential Crisis First Aid training program aimed at preparing civilians and volunteers in conflict-prone areas to respond in medical emergencies. The program trained over 180 Israeli civilians and volunteers.
This initiative addresses a critical need for medical preparedness, particularly in regions where healthcare systems may become overwhelmed during a crisis
Shai Fund also provided 84 families with art therapy boxes. These specialized art therapy materials enable therapists to offer counseling and solace, aiding the healing process by allowing people to express grief and process trauma creatively. This approach taps into fragmented emotions, offering a pathway to recovery for those deeply affected by the crisis.
We will continue to help all humans during times of conflict and persecution, building healthier, more resilient communities where every human is treated with dignity.
